Welcome!
Josiah Spiers organised the first Beach Mission in 1867 in Llandudno. He wrote ‘God is Love’ in the sand and invited children to decorate it and listen to a Bible story. From this grew the work of the CSSM and Scripture Union. Much has changed since then, but the aim of Beach Mission is still to use the Bible to help people know God better and inspire them to live for Him.
Cromer Beach Mission started in the 1880s and is supported by Scripture Union. For two weeks each August, a team of volunteers comes to share the Good News. About half are from the Cromer churches and the rest from churches all over the country. Last year, there were 50 on the team. The youngest was 16 and the oldest was over 70.
Mission welcomes children and young people from four to eighteen. Age-groups meet first, and then come together for Beach Special. During the afternoons and evenings, there are events for all ages, so there’s never a dull moment!
